Pine Crest School Student-Athletes and Coaches Recognized by the Miami Herald
June 13th 2022
Pine Crest School student-athletes and coaches have been recognized by the Miami Herald as Players and Coaches of the Year.
Hanna Elks-Smith ’22 was named Broward County’s Girls Scholar Athlete of the Year. During her time as a student-athlete, Hanna was a state champion swimmer, as well as a member of the tennis and track and field teams. The Herald has named Hanna to their Broward all county girls swimming first team four consecutive years. She has also been named an All-American for swimming. She will attend the United States Naval Academy next fall and is planning to swim and play tennis for the Midshipmen. Colby Geddis ’22, a first team lacrosse and second team football player, was a finalist for the boys award.
Jordan Faison ’23 was named Broward County’s Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year. The Herald has named Jordan to their Broward all-county first team for lacrosse and second team for football, both for the second consecutive year.
Eileen Pliske, Middle School Athletic Director, Girls Lacrosse Director, and Corey Marsh, Boys Tennis Head Coach were named Coaches of the Year in their respective sports by the Herald.
