Pine Crest Middle School student John Castle ’28 traveled to Vienna, Austria to compete at the International Geography Competition World Championship.

The International Geography Bee is a buzzer-based and written-based geography quiz competition for individual students. Qualification begins with the Online Regional Qualifying Exam, which students must pass to be invited. Students who pass move on to the Regional Finals.

John finished 9 out of 97 in the written-based world competition and 27 out of 96 in the overall middle school division. Additionally, John was the top-ranking student in the state of Florida.
