Pine Crest Upper School film students competed at the All American High School Film Festival (AAHSFF) in New York City recently.

In the weeks leading up to the festival, students created an original screenplay in class, planned locations around New York City and organized their production. Once on-site, they took on the challenge of creating an original film in just three days. The first two days of the competition were dedicated to filming, with the third spent on post-production and editing.

The finished piece was screened at the AMC Theater in Times Square as part of the festival lineup.

Following production, the students attended various festival events, including film screenings from high schools worldwide, a college fair, a dinner cruise and an awards ceremony. In addition to their on-site project, five other Pine Crest works were selected for screening. Notably, Natasha Bodmer ’26 was named a finalist in the Red Helicopter Challenge, which celebrates impactful storytelling through "simple generosity." Her film, “Childlike Wonder,” earned her a $750 cash prize.

Congratulations to all!
