Pine Crest School student-athletes Julia Podkoscielny ’23 and Kevin Mendez ’22 have been named Swimmer of the Year by the Sun Sentinel.  

In addition, Aquatics Program Head Mariusz Podkoscielny was named Boys Swim Coach of the Year, and 14 swimming and diving student-athletes were named to all-county teams. 

The girls’ swimming and diving team won their second consecutive Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state championship, and the boys’ team won state runner up. At the championship meet, Kevin won his fifth consecutive state diving title breaking a school record by scoring 560.45 points, which was a goal of his since fifth grade. 

For swimming and diving, athletes may be selected twice: once for relays and once for their individual achievements.
