Pine Crest School swimmer Julia Podkoscielny ’23, and diver Kevin Mendez ’22 earned state championship titles at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 1A state championship meet recently.

Julia earned her title in the 200-yard individual medley event and earned state runner-up in the 200-yard backstroke event.

Kevin earned his seventh consecutive state championship diving title, which is an FHSAA record for consecutive championships in the same event across any FHSAA sanctioned sport.

Both student-athletes lowered their own Pine Crest records along with the girls’ 200-yard freestyle relay, who finished third at the meet. The record broken was from 2007.

Congratulations, and Go Panthers!
