Pine Crest Hockey Team Earns Gold Division Championship

Pine Crest School’s ice hockey team earned the 2023 Gold Division championship! 

Hockey returned to Pine Crest School as a club team this year after not being offered since the early 2000s. The team began their season strong, entering the playoffs as the number one seed with their record of 16-3-1.

Pine Crest earned a victory in the league semifinals for a spot in the championship series against the number two seed, the Bullsharks from Spanish River High School. 

Pine Crest defeated Spanish River by a score of 6-4 in the opening game of the three-game championship series. The win in game one set the Panthers up to clinch the series and the championship in game two. 

The team will compete at the state championship playoff series from February 24-26 at Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida.
