The Annual Fund- Every gift makes a difference

Participating in the Annual Fund, no matter the amount of the gift, is the most significant way to support Pine Crest on an ongoing basis. In the spirit of our founder, Dr. Mae McMillan, who was a strong proponent of philanthropy, Pine Crest has its own set of on-campus staff volunteers who roll up their sleeves and work right alongside our parent volunteers to solicit gifts from our faculty and staff. They are Diane LaMonica, Teacher and Pre-Primary Annual Fund Coordinator; Cliff Page, Teacher and Lower School Annual Fund Coordinator; Lori Holroyd, Teacher and Middle School Annual Fund Coordinator; Todd Huebsch, Upper School Head and Annual Fund Coordinator and Jan Wiard, Vice President of Planning and Programs and Administrator Annual Fund Coordinator.

“We, too, believe that contributing to the Annual Fund is the key to providing the first class education that distinguishes Pine Crest as a school of excellence,” said Jan Wiard, Vice President of Planning and Programs. “Every gift enhances the students’ experience.”

Gifts to the Annual Fund support the school’s most fundamental needs, maintenance of the physical plant, teachers’ salaries, library acquisitions, athletics, the arts—and, perhaps most importantly, the Annual Fund provides financial aid to deserving students who otherwise might not have the opportunity to attend the school.

This year, Pine Crest has received tremendous support to our annual fund with a total as of March 31 of $721,641. It represents 112 percent of this year’s $650,000 goal.

“Our success is largely the work of a determined and dedicated team of volunteers who put in countless hours to ensure that our objective is not only to reach our goals and hopes, but to exceed them,” said Caryl Mendelsohn, Annual Fund Chair. “Their success and the generous financial contributions of the Pine Crest community have and will continue to ensure that Pine Crest’s students, teachers, and staff have unrestrained access to the best resources possible, endowing our children with a spectacular education. Every hour invested by an annual fund volunteer and every dollar invested by a member of the Pine Crest community creates one more opportunity for the teachers and staff to exceed our goals and hopes for our children.”
