More than 150 parent volunteers shared their time with parents' organizations and support offices during the 2014-15 school year.
To celebrate a great year, Boca Raton campus volunteer parents gathered for a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast in the Bernstein Family Commons Room. Speakers included Dr. Dana Markham (President), David E. Clark (Head of School), Elena Del Alamo '67 (Director of Admission), and Brandy Miller, (Director of Annual Giving). The morning's entertainment, introduced by Larry Mellone (Director of Fine Arts,) was performed by principal members of the Middle School cast of "Fiddler on the Roof."
Boca Raton Parents' Association President, Loren Lins welcomed her incoming President-Elect, Marni Gleiber, and thanked her volunteers for their tireless efforts this year, particularly in ensuring the success of our first ever all-school Auction. Loren Lins then presented Alison Gross with The Marion Dillon Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service before passing the gavel to her Successor. Pine Crest Fund Chair, Nel Bloom, thanked her committee volunteers and will be back next year, together with her Vice-Chair, Denise Zimmerman.
Fort Lauderdale volunteers were welcomed by Dr. Dana Markham, President, at Coral Ridge Country Club. Joseph Walters '95, Upper School Head, thanked many of our key volunteers, including Shari Weisfisch (LSFA President) Melissa Ackerman (MUSPA President), Janet Roy (Founder's Council Chair), Randi Schwartz (Pine Crest Fund Chair), and Carolina Paez (Pine Crest Fund Vice-Chair). He also recognized Auction Co-Chairs Steve Feder, Maria Feijoo, Cory Graef, Lynne Hart, Sara Medrano '89, Hiromi Printz, Angie Selden, and Jennifer Snyder as well as outstanding volunteer support from many areas of the school including the Admission Office, Athletics, College Counseling, Development Office, Fathers’ Club, Fine Arts, Founder’s Council, Guidance Office, ICI Holocaust Program, Pine Crest Fund Committee, Lower School Family Association, and the Middle & Upper School Parents’ Association. Amy Varo-Haub, Middle School Head and Kristin Shealy, Lower School Head, were equally appreciative of all of our volunteers who have worked so tirelessly throughout the entire year.
