Students from all 50 states and abroad who study French compete against students with similar educational background. The competition tests students' writing, reading, and listening skills.

Thanks to their dedication and commitment to the French language, the following Pine Crest eighth graders received gold and silver medals as well as diplomas on behalf of the American Association of Teachers of French:
