Track and Field Student-Athletes Advance to State Meet

The girls’ team finished fifth overall at the meet, which was their sixth top five finish in a row. The boys’ team finished seventh for their fifth top 10 finish in a row.

Tony Bridges ’18 earned the regional championship in the triple jump for the third year in a row, and Tsion Yared ’20 earned the regional title in the 1600m running the fastest time in Florida at any regional event. Taylor Logue ’17 earned the title in the pole vault and will defend her state title from last year.

Joining Tony, Tsion, and Taylor at the state championship meet are Amanda Schwartz '20, Emily Faulhaber ’20, Simone Vreeland ’17, Mahdere Yared ‘21, Ron Knezevich ’17, Alec Gugel ’17, Michael Kennedy ’17, and Michael Cabral ’17.

The state meet will take place on May 5 and 6 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton.
