Dear Pine Crest Community,
I am honored to share some amazing breaking news with all of you:
The Washington Post on Monday, May 21, ranked Pine Crest among the top TWO private schools in the nation for college preparation in a listing they call "The High School Challenge." Pine Crest is the only school in Florida that made this list, which is based on a stringent academic formula, and we are celebrating this accomplishment with exuberance and Panther Pride.
The reporter who placed Pine Crest at the top of the charts used a formula that divides the number of college-level tests given at Pine Crest in 2011 by the number of graduates that year, among other criteria. We all know, however, that this prestigious recognition comes not by coincidence or mere formula, but as a result of the quality and expertise of our faculty and administration, the dedication of our families, and most importantly, the commitment to excellence shared by our student body. This is a very newsworthy achievement that marks a history-making year for us as a School and a community.
The School year culminates in an abundance of successes and celebrations. We have reached unprecedented marks in academics, the arts, and athletics, and we will graduate a strong, broadly educated senior class who has made matriculation decisions at 80 colleges and universities.
This is a reward each and every one of us should share and celebrate. We are fortunate to have such an exemplary school with stellar programs and hard-working colleagues in each and every department.
