The Pine Crest School boys’ and girls’ crew teams earned the scholastic runner-up position for the second consecutive year at the Florida Sweep Championships Regatta.
The Panthers fought hard over their two days of racing at the world class Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida earning respectable finishes in all events entered.
The girls’ team placed sixth in the varsity 8 event, sixth in the 2nd varsity 8 event, and ninth in the freshmen 8 event.
The boys’ team finished eighth in the 1st varsity 8, sixth in the 2nd varsity 8, sixth in the 3rd varsity 8, fourth in the 2nd freshmen 8, and 3rd in the 1st freshmen 8 event.
Of the 19 scholastic programs, Pine Crest placed second in the state. Of the 38 club and scholastic programs racing, Pine Crest finished seventh.
Moving forward, our boys’ freshmen 8 and boys’ lightweight 8 will be representing Pine Crest on the national level at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America’s (SRAA) championship regatta in Cherry Hill, New Jersey from May 27 to 28.
