Pine Crest Upper School students in the three-year social entrepreneurship program competed in the Blue Ocean Competition recently.

The virtual entrepreneurship competition allows high school students to present their innovative business ideas, identify new market spaces, hone their pitching skills, and innovate products and services with unique value.

There were 5,200 participants representing 146 countries at the competition, with two Pine Crest teams advancing to the semifinalist round of 100 teams.

Robbie Hlatki ’23, Isabella Koopman ’23, and Sophia Montague ’23 are FreshUs, a mobile market that transports high-quality and affordable food to residents in food deserts.

Emma Gould ’23, Sara Moss ’23, and Andres van Woerkom ’23 are Reflow, a grey water reservoir system designed to reduce the need for new sources of fresh water in bathrooms.

In April, the top 25 teams will be announced, and a winner will be announced by May 1.

Congratulations, and good luck!
