Pine Crest Upper School students in the National English Honor Society (NEHS) recently connected with peers from St. Andrews School in Turi, Kenya.

Students connected through a cross-cultural book discussion over Zoom. “Our schools have been paired through NEHS's new Intercultural Alliance program,” said Mrs. Rebecca Strong, Upper School English Instructor. “This book discussion was one of the initiatives in our collaboration. The students discussed works they read by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Zora Neale Hurston, and, in addition to sharing their thoughts about what interested them in the texts, they were able to learn from each other about the differences between their respective cultures.”
