Fourteen (14) Pine Crest Upper School visual art students have been recognized by the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards from the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers for their original artwork.
Together, Pine Crest students earned 8 Gold Keys, 11 Silver Keys and 12 Honorable Mentions.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. Through the Awards program, the Alliance, whose mission is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent, offers teens the opportunity to receive a scholarship and have their work exhibited and published.
Gold Key entries are automatically considered for national awards, which include Gold Medal, Silver Medal with Distinction, Silver Medal and direct scholarship awards. National winners will be announced in March.
Maya Todorov ’26 earned a Gold Key for her oil on canvas painting “Wonder” and was nominated for an American Visions Award. The Visions Award is a prestigious honor that represents the different geographic regions of the Scholastic Awards. Jurors from each region can select up to five works to be American Visions Award Nominees. Maya’s painting will be reviewed by national judges and if selected as the award recipient, she will be honored at a national ceremony in Washington, D.C. and may be eligible to receive a cash prize.
All Gold and Silver Key recipients' works will be displayed at the Young At Art Museum, 8000 W Broward Blvd Ste 1208, Plantation, FL 33388 from February 17 to April 27, 2025.
Students who received recognition for their original written work will be recognized separately.
