Pine Crest Upper School Social Entrepreneurship students recently traveled to the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York to compete in the Diamond Challenge.
The Diamond Challenge is the world’s top-rated entrepreneurship competition for high school students. The competition was created through Horn Entrepreneurship, the creative engine for entrepreneurship education and advancement at the University of Delaware. Teams from around the world pitched their social innovations and business models to industry leaders.
The Challenge began virtually with 1800 teams from more than 77 countries. After the first round of the competition, six Pine Crest teams were chosen to pitch their products and services in front of a live panel of judges at the Masters School. At the live event, the Pine Crest teams faced competition from 850 teams.
Mehak Gadh ’25, Talia Sverdlik ’25, Gabe Duarte ’25, and Jake Weidenfeld ’25 of team PlayAR won first place at the competition and will advance to the Diamond Challenge Limitless World Summit to compete against the 50 top teams in the world.
