Pine Crest Middle and Upper School digital media students competed at the national Student Television Network (STN) competition recently.

Students traveled to Long Beach, California for the competition.

“We saw our students go out into the real world, communicate with adults and students they don't know, research and refine a story idea and topic, gather facts, conduct interviews, shoot video, write scripts, record sound, produce a running order of segments, and the list goes on,” said Mr. Dave Burgess, Pine Crest Director of Digital Media. “It is truly an experiential learning experience that goes beyond words, and an incredible opportunity for student leadership and application of knowledge.”

There were more than 2,500 students from schools around the nation in attendance at the convention. The Upper School News Feature Story placed third and the Middle School News Feature Story earned an Honorable Mention.

Congratulations to all!
