Pine Crest Upper School DECA Chapter Qualifies for National Competition

Pine Crest School’s DECA chapter recently competed in the Florida state DECA Competition. 

DECA is an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, finance, hospitality, and management whose mission is to prepare leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in those fields.

Pine Crest students qualified for the national competition after placing in the top eight in the respective categories in the state: 

Alex Schnurman ’24 and Adam Shiff ’24 - First place, Sports Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making 
Matthew Amunategui ’24 and Dean Sherman ’24 - Fifth place, Entrepreneurship Team Decision Making
Jeffrey Berinstein ’26 - Eighth place, Accounting Application Series 
Edward Zhang ’25 - Second place, Business Finance Series
Isaac Pack ’27 - Second place, Principles of Hospitality and Tourism 
Dean Shiff ’26 - Fifth place, Hotel and Lodging Management
Leon Merchel Czubek ’26 - Seventh place, Retail Marketing

Jeffrey Berinstein ’26, Leon Merchel Czubek ’26, and Edward Zhang ’25 were the only students who decided to compete at DECA Nationals and traveled to Anaheim, CA. Jeffrey and Edward earned Awards of Excellence at the competition.
