Competition Upper School

Two teams of Pine Crest Upper School social entrepreneurship students recently qualified to compete in the Diamond Challenge Summit.

The Diamond Challenge Summit is a conference that celebrates entrepreneurial high school students from around the globe and offers workshops, panel discussions, innovation sprints, and networking opportunities.

At the Summit, students develop solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges for a chance to engage and network with a global community of entrepreneurs and to compete for awards and monetary prizes.

Logan Schwedelson ’26, Johanna Henry ’26, Eshaan Atreya ’26, and Hunter Gittlin ’26 of team DeCarb qualified to attend the Summit after winning first place at the Diamond Challenge in February. Their product is a catalytic converter that minimizes carbon emissions.

Anaya Shintre ’24, Sophie Partin ’24, and Gabi Guimaraes ’24 of team Stystick earned second place, which also advanced them to the Summit. Styrostick is a craft glue created through solvent-based recycling to reduce styrofoam waste.

Both teams finished in the top 32 out of 960 teams representing 77 countries.

Congratulations to all!
