Pine Crest School Boca Raton Middle School Librarian/Emergent Leadership Specialist Ms. Trish Gittleman is the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME) Amanda Award winner for 2024.

The FAME award is supported by Dr. Jami Jones, a former Florida school librarian and the creator of the Amanda Award. The award is named for a former student of Dr. Jones and is intended to encourage the mentoring of students by librarians.

Ms. Gittleman implemented the Mindfulness Matters Program as part of the programing in the Beyer Center for Emergent Leadership, earning her the nomination for this award. The Program was acknowledged for enhancing and supporting the self-esteem and well-being of young adults.

Ms. Gittleman will receive her award at the Florida Library Association State Conference in November.
