Pine Crest Upper School student-athlete Julia Podkoscielny ‘23 qualified to compete in three U.S. Swimming Olympic Trial events this week in Omaha, Nebraska.
Julia’s first event is the women’s 400 Individual Medley (IM) on Sunday, June 13, 2021. The preliminary is scheduled to be live streamed via NBC Sports at approximately 12:00 p.m. EST. She will swim in the 200 IM on Tuesday, June 15 and the 200 backstroke on Friday, June 18. Both events are scheduled to take place between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. EST.
Julia is one of the youngest swimmers who qualified for the Trials, known as the one of the fastest swim meets in the world. For the 400 IM, she is seeded 24th, which is the second highest 18 and under seed in the country. Julia is a four-time Florida High School State Champion, having won Class 2A titles in the 200 IM and 100 back in each of her two high school seasons.
