Pine Crest Upper School Coders Earn Top Honors at Bebras Computing Challenge

Pine Crest Upper School students competed in the Bebras Computing Challenge recently.

The Bebras challenge is designed to help students explore their talents and passion for informatics and computational thinking with engaging challenges. Students from six to 18 years old work through tasks focused on different topics and skills within informatics and computational thinking. 

Jibran Lakhdhir ’25, Gabriella Rajter ’25, and Clara Thomas ’26 tied for Best of School, four points from the highest score in Florida in the Junior Division, and Zachary Harpaz ’24 placed Best of School, also achieving the highest score in Florida in the Senior Division.

Ayaan Chuadry ’25, Michael Krymski ’25, Connor Mertz ’25, Alexander Mullen ’25, Evan Niu ’25, Zachary Port ’25, Jonathan Rosen ’25, Jake Taubman ’25, Edward Zhang ’25, Jax Feinstein ’23, Jonah Ferber ’24, Bryce Hamaway ’24, Daniel Kathein ’23, Matthew Lopez ’24, Benjamin Stein ’23, and Morgan Zietz ’24 earned Honor Roll recognition. The average score of Pine Crest students was well above the state and national averages for both Divisions.
