Pine Crest Upper School student Gisela Cortadellas ’26 is one of the winners of The New York Times Ninth Annual Student Review Contest.

The New York Times invited students to submit reviews about any kind of creative expression covered in the publication. More than 3,200 submissions from teenagers worldwide were received with the publication naming dozens of finalists with nine winners.

Gisela wrote a review about the designer MSCHF and their “Big Red Boot.”

Announcing the winning reviews, The New York Times said, “All of these reviews are a joy to read and they have a few other things in common: They express strong opinions and support them with interesting and relevant details; they provide readers with background on the work and put it into context; and they stand out for their creative use of language, style and tone.”
