Upper School Awards & Achievements

Pine Crest Upper School student Mason Berger ’19 is the recipient of a regional high school media award.

Mason won a Student Production Award from the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the same organization that oversees the Suncoast Emmy Awards. The Student Production Awards promote achievement in broadcast journalism and film production by high school and college students.

He was among three nominees in the High School Talent category, which recognizes excellence in news anchoring, reporting, and other on-camera work.

"I have been anchoring PCTV since I was a freshman,” said Mason. “It's an honor to be recognized for that body of work. Knowing how to effectively communicate is an important skill, regardless of what industry you're in or what job you have. Having the opportunity to develop those skills over the last several years has been amazing."

Student Production Award winners were announced on Saturday, April 27 at the University of Miami.

Congratulations, Mason!
