Pine Crest Upper School Swimmer Competes at US Open Meet

Pine Crest Upper School student-athlete Julia Podkoscielny ’23 competed at the US Open Championship Series Meet in Greensboro, North Carolina recently.

Julia qualified to compete at the event having achieved the 2021 Time Standards for the 400-meter individual medley and the 200-meter backstroke within the previous 12 month period at a USA Swimming sanctioned event. 

Julia placed second in the 400-meter individual medley and touched the wall in third place in the 200-meter backstroke.

The meet was an opportunity for Julia to compete with some of the best swimmers in the country, including Olympic medalist Leah Smith and world record holder Reagan Smith. 

Congratulations, Julia!
