Nov 27 - Nov 29
Two Pine Crest Upper School robotics teams, The Fatherboards and The Crown Joules, will advance to the Florida First Tech Challenge (FTC) state championship.
All three Upper School teams Shark Beta, The Crown Joules, and The Fatherboards, competed at the FTC League Championship recently.
The Fatherboards earned first place at the championship and will advance to compete at the state competition in Jacksonville, Florida on February 22 and 23.
The Crown Joules won the Design Award and also finished as the first runner up for the Inspire award, earning the team a place at the state championship.
The Design award is based on the quality of their Engineering Design Notebook, which is a log of their work throughout the season. The Inspire award is based on overall team performance, including Design Notebook, judges interview, teamwork, team spirit, and robot performance.
This was the first year that many of the members of Shark Beta competed at the championship. They learned about the engineering process, robot building, teamwork, and leadership, which will ensure a great year of competition for them during the next school year.
Congratulations to all three teams!
