Pine Crest Upper School student Anabella Kupchik ’20 has been selected as the Grand Prize Winner in the 2018-19 Arts for the Future International Student Art Contest.

The contest was open to students from kindergarten through grade twelve, and eligible art could be done in drawing, painting, or photography.

As the grand prize winner for the 13-17 age group, Anabella’s work will be exhibited at the Google office and the Peninsula Museum of Art in San Francisco, and will be published in international media including ABC, NBC, CBS, Ifeng, Sina, and Sohu.

Anabella’s award-winning piece, Fleur, is made with acrylic paint and modeling paste.

“I love trying new things and experimenting with new media in my artwork,” said Anabella. “Modeling paste was something that I had always wanted to work with, and I thought that highlighting the volume of the flowers with it would make them more intriguing. A unifying theme of my artwork is a celebration of femininity and beauty, and this piece has inspired many others that I have created.”

Congratulations, Anabella!
