Salma Abuhamda ’19 was selected as a winner of the National Merit Alfred A. Davis/ASC Partners, LLC Scholarship. Mason Berger ’19, Rodrigo Castellon ’19, Noah Fischer ’19, Lauren Fromkin ’19, and Clara Nguyen ’19 were each selected as winners of a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship. Nathaniel Selub '19 was selected as a winner of the National Merit University of Chicago scholarship. 

Students were named National Merit Semifinalists based on their performance on the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). To compete for Merit Scholarship awards, Semifinalists first had to advance to the Finalist level of the competition by fulfilling additional requirements, including submitting a detailed scholarship application; demonstrating an outstanding academic record; being endorsed and recommended by a high school official; and earning SAT® scores that confirmed the qualifying test performance.
