The Pine Crest School track and field team hosted the 15th annual Panther Relays recently.

 

The girls’ team won the meet for the sixth time in the last seven years, with the boys’ team finishing fourth out of 11 scoring teams.

 

Emily Faulhaber ’20 placed first in the Direct Athletics Mile running 5:12.08, setting a meet record, and earning the fastest time in Florida and the fifth fastest time in the United States.

 

The girls’ 4x1600-meter relay team of Emily Faulhaber ’20, Maya Beleznay ’20, Amanda Schwartz ’20, and Tsion Yared ’20 placed first with the fastest time in the United States with a time of 21:35.18! 

 

In the Distance Medley Relay, Emily, Maya, Amanda, and Tsion finished in 12:37, which is the second fastest time in the state of Florida and the seventh in the United States.
 

In the throws, Lilly McCarthy ’23 and Hannah Fowler ’22 dominated the javelin and discus.  They set the meet record in the javelin with a combined distance of 186’9” for the win and also placed first and second, respectively, throwing 96’7” and 90’2”. They also placed first in the discus event throwing 76’0” and 61’7”.
