The Pine Crest School girls varsity track and field team has advanced to compete at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state championship meet.
At the regional championship meet, the girls team placed fourth, and advanced seven student-athletes to compete for state titles.
In addition to qualifying for the state meet, Brooke Hooper ’24 won the regional championship title for the 1600 meter race and placed runner-up in the 3200 meter race. The team of Michaela Lang ’27, Isabella Chambers ’22, Hanna Elks Smith ’22, and Brooke Hooper ’24 were regional runners-up for the 4x800 meter race.
The boys team placed seventh in a tight race and missed qualifying for the state meet by less than two seconds.
