Upper School Awards & Achievements

Pine Crest Upper School student Kelly Dunne ’22 received the 2022 National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Student Production Award from the Suncoast chapter.

The award honors students with outstanding achievement in on-air performance in their high school broadcast programs. Kelly earned his award in the Talent category, click here to watch his compilation.

Kelly has been an anchor on PCTV for three years and has been enrolled in digital media classes since he was a Middle School student.

“Kelly worked diligently this year to bring stories of interesting people around campus, including a sound designer, a cafeteria employee, and a Pine Crest teacher who survived the Marjory Stoneman Douglas tragedy,” said Jaimee Rashbaum, PCTV Instructor. “Kelly brings empathy, creativity, and thoughtful production to everything he does. I’m so proud of him, and this award is just further proof that his work is of a superior level.”

In addition to Kelly’s award, the PCTV Extended Show “Talent” was nominated for an award in the Newscast category. This program was produced by the Upper School television production classes and broadcast to the entire Upper School in a special program in February. It features a range of talented students within the community who excel in a variety of activities.
