Nov 27 - Nov 29
A team of three Pine Crest Upper School students earned first place at the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Innovate South Florida competition recently.
The NFTE hosts the annual Innovate South Florida competition to raise money to support entrepreneurship programs in lower-income schools.
Upper School Economics Instructor Andrew Kashdan held a preliminary competition to determine which Pine Crest students’ business plan would represent the School at Innovate South Florida. The participating students were instructed to create a seven- to ten-minute presentation that included the idea, target market, demographics, financial statements, and expansion.
Pine Crest alumni who are business leaders in the community volunteered to be judges for our internal competition.
The team of Andrew Delimitros ’22, Connor Bloch ’22, and Victoria Van Woerkom ’22 presented a mobile app that alerts boaters of divers and snorkelers nearby. They advanced to the NFTE competition where they earned first place.
Congratulations!
