Pine Crest Upper School students competed in the Harvard Model Congress conferences in San Francisco recently.
“Students played their roles as senators, representatives, Supreme Court justices, CIA officials, and others involved in the American political system with a high level of dedication, interest, and excitement,” said Mr. Gary Friedman, Upper School Social Science Instructor. “They debated both foreign and domestic policy issues, drafted bills and shepherded them through to final passage.”
Katelyn Rosado ’26 won honorable mention for Best Delegate on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
“I think that the measure of success in this activity,” said Mr. Friedman, “is really not how many awards are won, but how much the students learn about how our political system works and the enthusiasm and interest in politics that they develop as a result of the experience.”
Congratulations to all!
