Upper School Awards & Achievements

The Pine Crest Upper School Model United Nations Club participated in Nova Southeastern University's NIRAMUN competition recently.

“This was perhaps the most successful showing by Pine Crest at a Model United Nations simulation of late,” said Dr. Dimmy Herard, Social Science Instructor and Model United Nations Club Faculty Sponsor.

Among the eight schools in attendance, Pine Crest had the largest delegation with over 30 students.

“A handful of seasoned veterans provided much mentorship and guidance to their freshmen peers,” said Dr. Herard. “They were particularly knowledgeable of their countries and the issues they were asked to address, such as renewable energy and environmental sustainability in the General Assembly, drug trafficking in the Security Council, and forced labor in the Human Rights Council.”

The following students received recognition at the conference for their position papers and country delegations:

Maya Cacenco ’21 and Amanda Russo ’23

Ryan Dudak ’20

Maya El-Sharif ’21

Jonathan Kahn '21 and Francesca-Lauren Seguin ’23

Andrés Restrepo ’21 and Theodore Kirkpatrick ’21

Yuvraj Tuli ’21

Sydni Zfira ’20

Congratulations to all!
