Upper School Graduation


Pine Crest School celebrated Class of 2020 award recipients and their families for a virtual commencement awards ceremony. 

 

Jeff Johnson, Athletic Director, presented the J. William Munsey Scholar-Athlete Award, which was established in 1977. Considered Pine Crest’s highest athletic honor, it is awarded to the senior student-athlete who not only achieved outstanding athletic and academic success, but demonstrated qualities of sportsmanship, tenacity, and leadership.

Larry Mellone, Director of Fine Arts, presented the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award. Its recognition goes to the graduating senior who contributed to Pine Crest’s Fine Arts programs and exhibited the attributes of the ideal artist — talent, discipline, vision, and creativity — combined with 21st century thinking skills.

Marcia Hunt ’12H, Director of College & Academic Advising, presented the Academic Awards. These awards celebrate the seniors who achieved and maintained the highest cumulative core grade point averages throughout four years of Pine Crest Upper School.

Joseph Walters ’95, Upper School Head, presented the Principal’s Award. This award is given to a student who demonstrated a superior record in terms of conduct and achievement in all aspects of our School and added to the distinction of our community through character, leadership, and involvement in a wide variety of activities on campus.

Dr. Dana Markham ’18H, President of Pine Crest School, presented the Mae McMillan Award.  This award honors a student who exemplifies education, character, and leadership —ideals so highly prized by the founder of our school, Dr. Mae McMillan. The student embodies the true character of a Pine Crest graduate and has made an enduring mark on Pine Crest School.
